Opportunities to Present Original Research

MICYRN supports the Canadian National Perinatal Research Meeting (CNPRM) and the Pediatric Resident Research Competition (PedRes), ensuring these groups are able to continue providing learning opportunities, services and funding for maternal and child health researchers at the early stages of their careers.

The CNPRM is primarily about trainees, and ensures that trainees whom have had their abstracts accepted, are provided with a comfortable and nurturing environment to present at. In addition, trainee awards are given to selected emerging scientists to recognize and support their work. Sponsors from industry, research institutes, and university divisions, departments and sections enable CNPRM to continue to fully support young scientists—the perinatal research leaders of tomorrow. The meeting is an annual opportunity to exchange ideas, network and discuss science.

PedRes hosts host the National Pediatric Resident and Fellow Research Competition each year, giving resident researchers an opportunity to present their work. In addition, the group provides quality resources to support research needs throughout a resident’s training. This includes support for scholarly projects, biostatistics, interpreting research papers and writing manuscripts.
